DoD Open Data
Since the launch of Data.gov in May 2009, the Department of Defense has been committed to expanding public access to information and adopting a presumptiion in favor of openness and access. The Department will continue to use Data.gov as the access point for an ever increasing quantity of high-value, authoritative data that is not restricted for nation security, privacy or other statutory reasons.
To date, DoD has pubished over 300 high-value datasets and tools for public consumption. The Department also contributed 55 of the initial 94 datasets included as part of the launch of the Law Data Community, providing access to thousands of DoD legal decisions dating back to 1996.
